ECEM 2015 is looking for student helpers

We are looking for committed student volunteers to support us during the time of the ECEM 2015 conference. Help us making ECEM 2015 a great experience for all participants!

  • Applicants should be Post-Docs, PhD-, undergraduate, or Master students, regardless of discipline.

  • Applicants should be available for the total duration of the conference (August 16 to 21, 2015). Student helpers have to be willing and able to provide a total of 2.5 days (~ 20 hours) of volunteering work.

  • Applicants must be available and present at the pre-conference briefing, which will take place on Sunday morning (August 16).

The student volunteers should:

  • be enthusiastic and highly motivated, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • be fluent in English, which is the language of the conference.
  • be reliable, punctual and organized.
  • be self-starters.

  • Complimentary conference registration, including access to all sessions, poster exhibitions, a conference bag, and free lunches and refreshments during breaks.

  • An ECEM 2015 student volunteers T–shirt.

  • Participation in the organizers' post-conference party (Friday, August 21st, 2015).

Please note: All ECEM 2015 student volunteers are responsible for their own travel arrangements and accommodation (which costs are not covered by the ECEM 2015 student volunteers program).

About volunteering

ECEM 2015 gives full- or part-time university students from around the world the opportunity to attend and contribute to one of the most prestigious conferences in the field of eye-tracking.

As an ECEM 2015 student volunteer, you will interact closely with researchers, academics and practitioners from various disciplines and meet other students from around the world.

The skills, talents and dedication of the student volunteers contribute to the overall quality of the conference. The student volunteer role involves a range of duties, including, but not limited to:

  • Providing assistance to the conference management staff.
  • Helping and directing other conference participants.
  • Contributing to the overall smooth running of the conference functions and social events. This also includes assisting during talk sessions, symposia, and poster sessions as well as manning the information desk.

How to sign up as student volunteer?

To be considered as a Student Volunteer for ECEM 2015, please send an email to the organizers with the subject 'Student Volunteer Application'. Please include your name, email address, University, food requirements (if any), and a short description of yourself.

If you are not available for the entire duration of the conference, but would like to support us as a student helper anyway, please let us know in advance which dates you are available to work. Please do not apply, if you are not available on at least 3 full days.

All applications received by May 1st, 2015 will be reviewed and volunteers selected will be notified by May 15th, 2015. We might also draw further applicants after May 15th from a reserve list of names of timely received but initially not selected applications.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us via email. We are looking forward to receiving your application and seeing you at ECEM 2015!
